Museum Collections and the Galletti Foundation Palace

This visit retraces the historical events of the building hosting the collections, telling the story of the Franciscan church, the 19th-century palace of Belli Rocco, and the formation of the Gian Giacomo Galletti Foundation collection. Participants will learn about the donors behind the collections and discover details about Geo Chavez’s first flight over the Alps and the great undertaking of the Simplon Tunnel, whose memories are preserved by the museum. The visit concludes with the viewing and commentary of representative paintings created by local Vigezzo artists.
